Home Sweet Home

LucyVada.jpg

Merry Christmas Avery County Humane Society!
Attached is a Christmas picture of Vada! You all knew her as Lucy. I adopted her at the end of September. She's doing so well! She's gained a little weight and had grown quite a few inches. The vet thinks that along with her terrier, she maybe be mixed with hound dog...she may be a giant! Vada LOVES playing frisbee and pretending to be a lap dog, haha. She has a great temperament, she loves being around other dogs and children...but is still getting used to cats! Vada only knows a few tricks now, but hopefully she'll learn at lot in obedience school. She's so smart!
Wishing you all a happy and safe holiday!

Hello Charlene,

I promised you a picture of Lynn at her new home. We call her Lindsey. I've also attached the copy of the picture you took at her adoption. She is a beautiful kitty, and she has a unique personality. We love her dearly. We wanted you to see how well she is doing. Thank you for saving her for us.

Tory torybella.jpg

Attached is a photo of Bella (Tory) and her mommy (Brandie). My husband and I thought we were getting us a new baby but seems as though bella grew an attachment to Brandie more so than us. We love her so much already, she is a little stinker! It will be a week tomorrow and I think she fits in perfect with our family. We do regret not getting Davie also! Everyday we wonder if he has been adopted yet???????? My husband says maybe on the 18th we can call and see what the update on him is!!!??? Not sure I want to take on house training 2 puppies but when on go back on your website and look at his sweet face it seems worth all the little accidents they have. Our cat Phoebe, well lets just say she hates Bella! Phoebe hasn't been out of my bedroom since last Monday when Bella chased her all over the house for what seemed 10 minutes. Not sure who was more tired....Bella, Phoebe or me! We'll send more pics as she grows! Thanks again for all you do and for giving us our new little girl Bella :) Brian, Renee, Brandie and Bella

Gipsy

Gypsy is doing great! Very disciplined, loving and fun to play with. She does very well in the house and gets along great with my cat. Thanks!

 Patches

I am Karen Dickens and the proud owner of "Patches" that I got at Avery Humane in in 2010. She is the best kitty and is very loving. Ever since we got her she has sat like a Meer Cat. She does not like to travel but just loves her carrier. She sleeps in it if it is left anywhere that she can get in it. She loves to be in the waste paper baskets in our computer room or in my laptop case. I have enclosed a few pictures of her. She love both of our homes. The one in Banner Elk and the one here in West Palm Beach. I got your e-mail today and I sure do wish I were up there as you have just the kitten I have been looking for his name is "Cracker Jack" I am send you a check for the new building. Thank you so very much for all you have done for me. (Patches was never spayed when I got her but you took care of it) Thank you so much. Karen Dickens

Duke

He's doing great. I re-named him "Scooter". He's still shy with my husband but SUPER with me. He loves the other dogs and sleeping on the bed. Here is a picture from the kitchen! Thanks for checking on him! Happy New Year! Julia duke new2.jpg

Liam Bath windows, APG cycle, Leo August 2011 003.jpg

As promised, here's another couple of pictures of Leo. He really is such a friendly, sweet-natured cat and doesn't meow nearly as much as he did when we first brought him home in July (although he still does a lot of talking). He's very lovable and has made himself right at home - even sleeps with us at night and has from day one. Doesn't he look like he's smiling? We are so lucky to have him.Leo, Bill, Old Windows August, 2011 001.jpg

Thanks so much for getting the picture to us...
We wanted to send some back to you since we live so far away and it is unlikely that we will be able to make the 600 miles back to visit...
thanks again soooo much for letting us take him home... he really is a part of the family now...
