Volunteer And Save A Life
We rely on animal lovers just like you to help us with our life-saving programs! Whether you're interested in helping with adoption counseling, administration, dog walking, socializing kitties, training dogs or more, we'd love to have you as part of our Avery County Humane Society volunteer family! Joining our Volunteer team is very easy. Simply complete our volunteer application so we know who you are and what you would like to do. We'll have an orientation session twice a month so you get familiar with the shelter. if you know someone that who wants to volunteer but does not have computer access, you can complete the application for them.
Once we are in the new shelter we will be sending out an email with the orientation schedule. For liability reasons all volunteers have to be 18 years of age. However, children 12 years and older can volunteer if with a parent or guardian. We're sure you understand children cannot be left unattended in the shelter and, for their safety, cannot voluntter in animal care.
